House Keeping
My back feels like it's been danced on and the upper half of my right arm is sore, not to mention the twitch I have in both of my hands. And I feel some type of soreness deep in my tummy. What have I been doing? I've been CLEANING! Because of the economy I must now clean my own home. *looking into camera* And you know I am NOT happy about that. Soooo, since I don't like big messes, I felt like it was time to clean. This time I wasn't doing one floor at a time cuz when I tried that before I never got past the 1st floor good before my azz was crying "uncle." Not to mention I'd have to start the process all over again cuz I'd never gotten to any other parts of the house.
So this morning I woke up and started putting away the dishes in the dish washer and loading it up again with dirty dishes. Then started wiping down the counters, as I do everyday, and the next thing I know my azz moving chairs and scrubbing and mopping and so on. Once I got started it's like I couldn't stop.
Well here's where I started to get really pissed. Aside from the fact that my azz sweating like a dayum slave out in the cotton field, AND having to do Daughters of Destiny interventions every 30 minutes AND re-clean sh*t cuz Asaria feel like she want to dirty up areas I JUST cleaned - I realized that it only took me 4 hours to clean my ENTIRE home. Four hours you say, dayum that's a long azz time. Well let me explain. I live in a 3 floor house. Yes 3 FULL REAL floors with long azz hall ways on each floor - including the 3rd. There are 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. There's a nice sized kitchen, dinning room and living room - not to mention little crook and cranny areas as well. Now I'm not a cleaning company so I don't have industrial sized vacuum's that cost $500.00. I don't have 30 different cleaning tools and rags and cleaners. I had one spray bottle filled with my Mrs. Meyers All Purpose Cleaner, a Swiffer Mop, a regular mop, a mop bucket, gloves, 4 sponges, a euro cloth thingy and a bunch of paper towels. Ohh and since our regular Dirt Devil vacuum broke some time ago, I used the Bissell Featherweight vac to vacuum 2 floors worth of dayum carpet. So you see where I'm going with this?
What I'm wondering is WHY it took me 4 hours to clean (I started at 10:00 am and finished at 2:00 pm) my ENTIRE home BY MYSELF with a bunch of interuptions, changing diapers, cooking food for 4 children, making up beds, picking up a playroom AND stopping to talk on the dayum phone for 20 minutes? But when the cleaning company we had cleaned - with 2 people everytime they came - it always took them 4 hours. And they clean for a living. AND they didn't have to make up any beds because I always made sure the beds were made BEFORE they came. AND they didn't have to clean up the Daughters of Destiny play room because I made sure the girls cleaned up their toys BEFORE the cleaners came. AND I'd always made sure there were no dishes in the sink (sometimes there would be a few). Ohh and one of the rooms and bathrooms stayed clean cuz it's the guestroom that no one uses on a regular basis.
So why would it take them 4 hours and it's two of them and they clean professionally and have all this xtra stuff? But when I cleaned alone with no help and the wrong equipment it took me 4 hours as well. Ohh and did I mention they charged $50.00 per hour? And I was told that I was getting a deal, you know cuz my house so large and sh*t. I really felt like I was. And after today, I feel like somebody was tryna pull a fast monkey on me. Cuz it shouldn't take TWO people 4 hours to clean my dayum house (which ain't that dirty in the first place). And I found dirt and sh*t that hadn't been cleaned since BEFORE we moved in. Ohh and did I forget to mention they did a MOVE-IN cleaning when we had NO furniture in here? So why was their dirt on top of the dayum shower walls? Like nasty outside dirt? I mean for real. We don't live in a box but we ain't rich either. You know?
I realize that I can clean my entire home in 4 hours, and still care for the girls and take breaks and sh*t. I just know that when we do have someone come and clean again, they can't quote me no 4 hour rate if two people are going to be here. Now I realize why one person would leave after an hour cuz if they stayed and worked until my home was clean - it wouldn't have taken 4 hours. Dayum that's f*cked up. I really hate to feel like folks take advantage of me cuz I don't complain about stuff or cuz I smile and sh*t.
Anyway, that was my vent for the day. I had to let that sh*t out cuz I probably won't be able to move tomorrow from being so sore from all the dayum cleaning I did.
